Get ready, Phlock — the 2026 Poker Run is getting a whole new shuffle!

This year, we’re switching things up and keeping the entire party in one awesome spot: Jake’s Restaurant & Bar on South Padre Island on December 29, 2026 from 12 pm-5 pm. No running around the Island… just great music, great friends, great drinks, and a whole lot of cards flying across the tables.

We will be showcasing our extraordinary local artists during the Poker Run!

Every hour, a new artist hits the stage and a fresh round of cards is dealt — so the music never stops, the energy never dips, and your hand just keeps getting better

Details are still being finalized, but to give you a peek into the lineup. J Micheal Laferty, OnLone Pirate & The Tipsy Mermaid, Leslie Blasing & Dr. Zog! Bring your friends, your luck, and your best Parrot Head attitude. Let’s deal, dance, and celebrate the end of 2026 the SPI way. Proceeds benefitting CASA- (Court Appointed Special Advocates) a national network of nonprofits that trains volunteers to advocate for the best interests of abused and neglected children in the court system.

During our happy hour this month at MyPlace we will be collecting needed items for the Head Start program at Nino's Inc.

They have provided the below list of items to help their young clients. They mentioned that the greatest need is small shoes and socks, but any of the items on this list would be welcome.

If purchasing clothing, the underwear and shoes need to be new. However, other clothing items such as sweaters, jackets or baby blankets could be gently used. Renew in Port Isabel might be a good resource. Please do ensure all items being donated are clean and in good condition.

• Baby wipes (fragrance-free)

• Socks (ages 0–5)

• New children's underwear (2T–5T)

• New children's shoes sizes for boys and girls: Toddlers: 5–8 and Preschoolers: 9–13

• Baby/toddler blankets (for naptime at the center)

• Jackets/sweaters/clothes for children ages 18 months - 5 years old.

We’ve got cold drinks, warm sunsets, and live tunes from the always‑fantastic J Micheal Laferty!

Bring your island attitude, your dancing flip‑flops,

and your best “cheers to two years” energy.

Because Parrot Heads always party with a purpose, we’re spotlighting one of our most important local causes: St. Stephen’s Food Pantry.

Please bring canned food donations to help support families right here in our community.

February Happy Hour is about to get WILD in the best way! We’re taking the party to the always‑fun, always‑welcoming Upper Deck Hotel & Bar and we’re rolling in with a full‑on Mardi Gras celebration!

Break out the beads, the feathers, the masks, the glitter — whatever says “I’m ready to laissez les bons temps rouler!” Come dressed in your most festive Mardi‑Gras style and bring that island energy.

And just when you think it can’t get any better… The Whites of Texas hit the stage at 7 PM to keep the night rocking.

Come for the meeting, stay for the music, the laughter, the colors, and the chaos — the good kind.
